Chorizema varium (Limestone Flame Pea)

100 (150)cm, Limestone Flame Pea is an endangered, prostrate to upright growing small woody shrub from very few localilites in southwestern Australia. Chorizema varium makes dark green narrow, slightly glossy leaves with spiny margins and utmost showy dark orange flowers with a yellow eye and magenta lower lips. It is one of the most colorful Chorizema species. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Keep plants drier in winter at a minimum of some 15°C. VI-IX.
