Papaver dubium ssp. lecoqii (Rose Long-Head Poppy)

30 (45)cm, Rose Long-Head Poppy is a rarer subspecies with small pale rose instead of bright orange flowers as in the nominal subspecies dubium. Papaver dubium ssp. lecoqii is an easily cultivated annual for any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Sow flat directly after the last freezing nights in mid spring. Do not cover seeds with soil. Under appropriate conditions this species will readily self-sow. V-VII.
