3 (5)m, shrub with elliptic leaves, acute at tips and greenish white flowers in spring. Native of humus rich soils in north-eastern Asia. For any rich soil in partial shade. Makes most ornamental, large, reddish purple capsules and nicely contrasting bright orange seeds, ahead of most other Euonymus in summer from VII-VIII.
