Ocimum tenuiflorum (Persian Basil)

30 (60)cm, Persian Basil or Tulsi Basil is a perennial subshrub which is native from Iran through Thailand. Ocimum tenuiflorum has small pale pink flowers in elongating racemes above oval, pubescent leaves with serrated margins and a strong, sweet camphor-anise like fragrance. These are used in may dished in India and Indochina. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Best grown as an annual. VII-IX.
