Penstemon speciosus (Royal Beardtongue)

40 (70)cm, Royal Beardtongue is a showy perennial with several upright stems, densely packed with quite large, rich lilac blue flowers. It is native of open spots in dryish woods in California (USA). For any rich, very well drained, preferably slightly rocky soil in a sunny spot. V-VII.
