Penstemon spectabilis (Showy Beardtongue)

40 (70)cm, Showy Beardtongue is a most ornamental perennial with bright green leaves and erect racemes with quite large, bluish-purple flower trumpets. It is native of open spots in dryish woods and mountain meadows in California (USA). For any rich, very well drained, preferably slightly rocky soil in a sunny spot. V-VII.
